YD Series Pole-Changing Multi-Speed Electric Motor Technical Data

The YD series multi-speed three-phase asynchronous motor, with an IP54 protection rating, is based on the Y2 series three-phase asynchronous motor. It utilizes a method of changing the stator winding connections to alter the number of poles, allowing for dual or more speeds through single or dual windings. Our YD series motors are available in 11 frame sizes, ranging from 80 to 280.

The model code for the YD series motor consists of four parts:

  1. “YD”: This indicates that the motor is an asynchronous electric motor.
  2. The digits in the second part represent the frame’s central height (this remains the same whether the motor has a base or not).
  3. The letter in the third part denotes the frame length, with “S” for short frame, “M” for medium frame, and “L” for long frame. The number following the letter indicates the core length.
  4. The fourth part, after the hyphen, specifies the number of poles of the motor.

This coding system ensures clarity in motor specifications and helps in selecting the appropriate motor for specific industrial needs.
